<p>Ever notice how fabric bundles have food names like: Jelly rolls, Honeybuns and of course, Layer Cakes?  Which is what I named this piece, Layer Cake. Back in 2011 I did a drawing called <a href="http://redspottedpatch.blogspot.ca/2011/05/mind-if-i-call-you-honey-bun.html" target="_blank">Honeybun</a>. I guess I need to do a drawing called Jellyroll to cover all my bases.</p>
<p><a href="http://archive.lysaflower.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/WEB-Layer-Cake-Lysa-Mair-3276.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2906" src="http://archive.lysaflower.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/WEB-Layer-Cake-Lysa-Mair-3276.jpg" alt="WEB Layer-Cake-Lysa-Mair-3276" width="1024" height="792" /></a></p>
<p>I adore Lesley&#8217;s taste in fabric. She entrusted me with her: <a href="https://www.pinterest.com/lysaflower/fabric-y-goodness/" target="_blank">Flea Market Fancy</a> by <a href="http://www.dsquilts.com/" target="_blank">Denyse Schmidt</a>,  <a href="https://www.pinterest.com/lysaflower/fabric-y-goodness/" target="_blank">Dogwood Blooms</a> by <a href="http://www.joeldewberry.com/" target="_blank">Joel Dewberry</a>,  <a href="https://www.pinterest.com/pin/497366352576098121/" target="_blank">Mendocino </a>by <a href="http://heatherross.squarespace.com/" target="_blank">Heather Ross</a>. It was also my first introduction to<a href="http://jansdotter.com/" target="_blank"> Lotta Jansdotter</a>- <a href="http://blog.fabshophop.com/blog/index.php/2011/11/30/check-this-echo-by-lotta-jansdotter/" target="_blank">Echo</a>, whom I now adore! Now there is one more&#8230; see it? The bottom left. I&#8217;m not sure which fabric that is. Do you know? In hindsight I should have written it down.</p>
<p><a href="http://archive.lysaflower.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/side-Lysa-Mair-3278.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-284" src="http://archive.lysaflower.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/side-Lysa-Mair-3278-1024x679.jpg" alt="side Lysa Mair-3278" width="1024" height="679" /></a></p>
<p>Drawn with coloured pencils in June of 2012, this piece is 14&#8243; high, 18&#8243; wide and 2&#8243; deep. Kind of sounds like the dimensions of a&#8230; well, cake, doesn&#8217;t it! Have a wonderful day and hopefully it includes a piece of cake&#8230; you can eat.</p>
