Day two!

Here are a few other things that are in our booth. Aprons!

I created two kinds. One for gathering your garden’s harvest.

And one for holding all your tools, you know when you have to hunt those pesky weeds.

Each apron has a clip for your keys and a unique back to it!

Then there are the chairs. I LOVE the chairs!

And last, but not least Hot and Cold packs, which after yesterday’s breezy weather was a delight to use!

Thank you everyone who came out to Mini Maker Faire. It was SO fun to visit with all of you!

My Feature in Made In’s Magazine, an Etsy Store and a Craft Sale!

Wow, so much has happened since we last chatted. First of all, tee hee! made in! Here is my feature in made in magazine! Crazy right? I feel a bit naked but I’m so grateful to the magazine. What an amazing opportunity! Plus to be included with so many amazing people is very humbling! I really love biographies and I love learning about what everyone does! I think that is what made in is really about, people and their stories. Mostly their stories of how and what they create but each one is so different and interesting. I believe made in’s next issue comes out in the spring (March-ish). I’ll keep you posted.

The next thing that has happened is… deep breath… I finally took the plunge! After many years of waiting I have finally opened an Etsy shop! Woo Hoo! Sure, I have only have one listing right now but I’m on the game board at least! For some reason I felt very weird about opening it. I’m not really sure why but I’ve had enough interest in my cards, calenders and drawings that it made sense to do it now. I feel a bit like I’m free falling right now but I’m confident I’ll figure it out as I go, or before I hit the ground-eep! Maybe tomorrow I’ll have two listings, wouldn’t that be wild and crazy!

And finally the next big thing on my list is I was invited to join another craft fair. How nice is that! Thanks Nell! It’s in Deep Cove, have you been there? I love Deep Cove especially the sinful do-nuts at Honey Donughts & Goodies!

The Warp and Weft Challenge

After my first year in art school I studied sculpture, in sculpture, I painted. Then once I transferred to painting, I made paper. I eventually settled on printmaking and after graduation studied animation. I guess it should be no surprise that when Esmari from Warp and Weft Exquisite Textiles gave our Guild, the Fraser Valley Modern Quilt Guild, a challenge to create something with fabric… I drew it!

I was inspired by the safety pins from Esmari’s shop!

This calendar is held on by magnets, that way the wood isn’t affected or punctured. Each month is displayed one at a time. The extra months are stored on the back of the calender in a pocket. When the year is over, a new calendar can be reordered, or you can attach your own pictures, or attach you own notes or… just have a drawing hanging on your wall!

Sadly I won’t be there but some of my calendars and cards will be! Plus there are LOADS of great people and wares to check out! I know, I’m bummed I have to miss it but I’ll be swimming with the manatee’s in Florida!
