I believe I’m going through my cover band stage. Right now I’m spending a lot of time studying Gig posters and graphic design. This particular mini quilt was a study of “Abstract” by Kari Moden. I’d love to say I invented the design but I didn’t. I, just studied the colours, shapes, sewed it and quilted it. It’s not an exact replica but was enough for me to dissect it. I got some great love on Instagram from Ayumi Mills and Katie Pedersen. Not to shabby, hey?!
The grey is a beautiful shot cotton that I picked up in Edmonton at Earthly Goods. So soft!
And the back… you can’t even tell but I put a sleeve on it.
Originally I made this mini , called “Public”, for the FVMQG at the Creative Stitches show (March 2014), however, now that the show is over I think it’s time to turn this mini quilt into a kick ass pillow. Wouldn’t you agree?!
