A set of cards- Day two of four Giveaways!

First of all let me say, thanks so much for those of you who played along with the Match Needle book  giveaway yesterday. I LOVED all the answers to, “whose pocket would you slip a match book into (with your phone number on it)?” Someone turned the tables on me and asked me the question right back! I considered a few people  but I settled on Daryl from The Walking Dead. I figured he’d be my best bet for when the Zombie apocalypse goes down. Safety first! Right?

Okay, on to today! I’m giving away a pack of my cards!

Pack of cards stacked on drawings 2012

Same rules as yesterday but a new question to answer.

1) Please leave me a comment answering this question: What’s the funniest, weirdest card you’ve ever gotten? For example: one year both sets of my grandparents gave me the same birthday card. What are the chances? Actually I’m a little surprised it doesn’t happen more often.

2) You can have more than one chance to win! In your comment just let me know how you follow me. Are you subscribed to my site, or do you follow me on Bloglovin?  Perhaps you’ve liked my Facebook page, or I know you from Instagram, or  Twitter, or Flickr or maybe Pinterest? Any or all will work! You’ll be entered for each way you follow. How’s that for snazzy!

3) Check back Thursday and Friday too. You can enter everyday, same rules apply but there will be a different question each day and a different prize (I can’t tell you what they will be yet, shhhh… it will be a surprise!) Each day will have a separate winner (you can only win once). They will all be announced on Saturday July 12, 2014. The prizes will be mailed out the following Monday. International entries are totally welcome!

Good luck!

I was just telling my husband that my mum gave us the same card last year for our anniversary that she gave us this year! giggle. I got a post card of outhouses of the south on it from a quilting friend. That was funny!

  2. About a hundred years ago, when I was a first year UBC student living in residence, I was very unhappy over a first-love break-up, and homesick to boot. I called home to talk to someone who loved me. A few days later I got one of those ginormous cards in the mail. On the front was a bear saying “When your are feeling down and out, lift up your head and shout …….” And inside read “OH, SH!T” This was a word I had never heard my mother say! I still have that card somewhere.

  3. HI! I wanted to comment yesterday but felt it was more appropriate to be nice and let others have a chance to win;) Now, though, game on!

My husband does this thing (and I go along with it) with his siblings where he gets them non-birthday cards (sometimes things like “congrats on your new baby!” or “happy kwanzaa!”) so one year they repaid us and I got a very depressing funeral type of card, “sorry for the loss of your loved one” type of thing.

    • Ha! My friends, sister and I totally do that as well! I’m notorious for giving Halloween cards for every holiday like Hallow-tine’s day :)

I haven’t received too many weird cards but I’ve sent a pretty strange one. More specifically our wedding invitations.
I had 3 weeks to arrange our wedding (It wasn’t shotgun at all – logistically it made sense because my husband was actually going to be in town on that date and it would make our immigration lawyer’s life a lot easier. Very romantic.) so I did everything myself, including sending out an evite (very classy) to our friends and family requesting their presence to witness the ‘consummation’ of our wedding.
I promptly got a reply in my inbox from a friend saying: “Eeuuhhh, I don’t want to see that!”. I’d meant to write ‘consecration’. It’s what happens when you try to draft a wedding invitation after a few glasses of vino…;-)

By the way, don’t enter my comments for your draw. I’m just participating because your questions are fun!

I always got and still get home made cards from my boys, for mothers day, birthday and Christmas. I just found one from my son Matthias for mothers day and it says
    ” To mom
Hope you have a delightful day
Good job in keeping the house clean
    With love
    Matthias

The best card I ever received was an end of year card from a student. It was a sympathy card. It was a bit of a shock at first – until I remembered that ‘simpatico’ in Spanish means ‘kind or sympathetic’. This adult English learner whose first language was Spanish made what I came to know as a very common mistake for Spanish speakers. I think of this woman every time I see Sympathy cards at the store.

  9. It might be a tie between a card that ended up being a magnet that was collaged with Beck’s picture and had him saying how awesome I was (I’m not even particularly a fan of his?) and the one that my sister sent me that had collaged pictures of semi-scandous male models all over them,

most of my friends know if i get a very funky card it ends up as a decoration in my powder room! Its fun to keep looking at some of them over and over.
The nice cards end up in picture frames or on a shelf.

Beautiful cards! I can’t remember anything funny on store bought cards. I do treasure the cards my lids made when they were younger. I can remember my Mom saying that she loved getting our handmade cards. Only after having my own children did I tealize what a treasure it is to have the little master pieces the handmade cards are.

I follow bia email, FB, IG and BlogLovin.

Thanks for a super giveaway and a chance to win.

my sister once sent me a card in college…the front had a body with a chocolate chip cookie head…and it went on and on about how perfect the guy seemed, but it wouldnt work out….yikes, not so funny trying to explain it…but the mans qualities were much like a chocolate chip cookie….anyway, my sister wrote on a sticky note instead of the card because she thought it was such a good card, id want to reuse it!!
