A BIG, BIG thank you to everyone who entered my Sew Mama Sew Giveaway. What blogger doesn’t love seeing comments flood in but even better than that your comments were so, so, SO… God they ROCKED! I LOVED reading all of your answers to the question, “Whose phone number would you like to find in a match book?” Someone asked “is that a thing?” Hmm, I may have dated myself with that question but yes, yes it was a thing.

Here is the break down of the answers:

The majority of commenters wished to find numbers of people they’ve fallen out of touch with or lost.

There was a group that would like to chat with their favourite quilters.

But I think the biggest chunk of commenters wished to find the number to… hmmm, how should I put it… hotties:

Like Daryl from the Walking Dead (I though you ladies might enjoy this link – emoji kissy face, emoji kissy face, emoji kissy face)

Elvis Costello

Tom Selleck

Harrison Ford as Han Solo (a nice Magnum PI cross over in that link)

Alexander Skarsgard (Eric from True Blood)

Tom Hiddleston (Loki from Thor) this is the video a prank that was played on him that won me over.

Oh and there was the Queen, not necessarily a hottie but still, I thought a great answer.

Only one person asked specifically for a phone number 867-5309. Which was funny because I had that number on my wall, wink!

But what everyone wants to know is who won?! Now this is a little awkward because the winner said she’d like George Stoumboulopuluos’ number. Why is that awkward you ask? Um, he’s my boyfriend. Or a least that’s what he tells me every time I watch his show.

winner-1

Either way a big congratulations to Number 105 Leanna!  Now I must mention Leanna has a great blog called Poot and Boogie and has created an AMAZING movement called the Advocates. It will give you goosebumps, good ones though. Leanna also has a Facebook page too. I encourage you to check it out!

A big thanks for all the blog love last week. Right back atcha! I hope you find all those people you’re looking for in your match books. Thanks for popping by and I hope to see you again!

Cheers

Match Book Needle Books!

Welcome and thanks for popping by! I’m very excited to be a part of Sew Mama Sew’s Giveaway Day again!

A few weeks back I was given, along with other Warp & Weft Sewing Society members, a challenge to make something with Lotta Jansdotte’rs new fabric line, Momor and Sylvia.  This is what I came up with! Match needle books! By leaving a comment and answering this question, “whose phone number would you love to find written on the inside of a match book?” you will be entered to win one of my match needle books. But that’s not all! As a bonus you will also win the pattern to make a match needle book and a kit with all the pieces you’ll need! Free to let me know which colour you like best from the photo below.

Each winner will be chosen randomly and international entries are very welcome. The contest will be left open from now until May 16th  at 5 pm PST . The winners will be contacted on May 18th and their match needle book and kit will be shipped out on May 20th.

Best of luck!

April showers brings… for this month of May (here’s the link for you to download-just click here) I drew these Warp & Weft beautiful Sajou Linen Thread Star cards. I thought they looked like flowers and followed up last month’s calendar nicely.

2014 models for Warp & Weft's May Calender

What do you have planned on your calendar this month? May is a pretty big deal of a month for us. It was a pretty life altering month 14 years ago when our oldest son was born. 14? 14! As you can tell I’m  having a hard time digesting it. I keep thinking if I repeat it enough times it will feel more… un-weird. How can time fly like that? It seems like only yesterday I was 14!

Oh wait, I forgot to tell you what happened last month! Esmari from Warp & Weft came to Vancouver for a visit and we were able to meet up at the Londale Quay. As you can tell Esmari has a wicked sense of humour and before these ladies crashed our party we had a chance to chat about pretty mail, our mad computer skills and the lovely and exciting Warp & Weft Sewing Society!

Oooft,  it was hard keeping this under wraps, especially after seeing all the innovative and beautiful things the rest of the Warp & Weft Sewing Society gang made for this Lotta Jansdotter Challenge. Here’s the run down: Monday April 21st, Esmari made a fresh and beautiful quilt. Tuesday, April 22nd, Sherri made a couple of adorable totes (she has a tutorial on how to make them too).  Carla was Wednesday, April 23rd and she made a tote/purse, zippy pouch and wallet (I recently ordered a writstlet from Carla, I can’t wait until it arrives!). Thursday April 24th was Shannon with her loveable tunic and baby quilt. For Friday, April 25th Cathy made a mouth watering straightlined quilted quilt. Cynthia was Saturday April 26th with yet another, hitting it out the park quilt (oh, and pouch)… that’s a hard act to follow.

Match Needle Book-2014

Here’s what I made! The Clock (at the top of the post)  and  the Match Needle books have been some projects I’ve been dying to do for a while now and this was the perfect opportunity!  It was also the perfect opportunity to do something else I’ve always wanted to do, design a pattern. Which I did for the Match Needle Books!

Match Needle Book-2014

I’m so thrilled with how every thing turned out! I especially enjoyed, stacking and arranging the needle books…

… and oh yeah, putting needles and pins in them. Now, I have enough needle books for every future project I do!
