This is my first time joining Sew Mama Sew’s giveaway day and I’m very excited.I feel a bit like Bob Barker, if only I had that long microphone, that would be cool! However to win this pack of 5 cards you don’t have to jump up and down or spin any wheels, all you have to do to enter is answer one of these questions: Who was the last person you received a letter from or who was the last person you wrote a letter too. Easy peasy right! The winner will be picked at random and announced on December 7th. And yes am more than happy to ship internationally.
I love fabric! Who doesn’t? Don’t you? I love to touch it, buy it, sort it and arrange it, contains so much potential but I especially love to draw it!
I’ve drawn my stash many times and I realize I also love seeing and hearing about other people’s fabric stashes. I guess that makes me a bit of a voyeur (aren’t we all, it can’t be just me?!)I decided to ask some super talented fabric lovers if I could draw their stashes and you know what, they said yes!
Every stash is different and is a portrait of each owner. Each stash is vastly different ranging from the size of how big, or how select, to how organized, or in many cases not so organized, and of course, of colour choices.
Ahem you wouldn’t let me me take a peek at your stash would ya? …c’mon just a peek…I guess it’s only fair you peek at mine first. You can see some of my stash drawings on Flickr or more drawings of Lesley’s stash (the first drawing), Krista’s stash (second, third and forth drawing) or Berene’s stash (the last one) in my gallery.
Whether or not I get to see your stash or not, as Bob Barker always said “Good Luck!” Oh and be sure to check out other Sew Mama Sew’s giveaways. So many goodies! Bob Barker didn’t say that but…if the giveaway days would have been invented then, I think he would have!

I sent a card to my aunt Margaret. One of my photos printed on the card In it I shared great news about how well my step-kids are doing and thanked her for her ear when they were in the “insane” stage.

The last person that I received a letter from was a lovely young friend who is away from home. We were her youth pastors and she is just dear to our hearts!
I love writing old fashioned snail mail letters, so I can tell you who the last letter was from, as well as who the last person was who I have written to, as both letters are right next to me!
Last letter received was from my friend Fiona, last letter written was to another friend named Anne.
The last personal letter I wrote was to my Mom and Dad. This was the way they communicated with the world. I can only tell you how exciting it was to get a letter in the mail addressed to me, and Mom would have a stamp attached to the top of the letter, a little nudge that I needed to reply, and fairly promptly thank you very much. I miss them both, but I have some fond memories of them . Thank you for reminding me about this part of my memories
Permalink
Last letter I got was from Lowell inviting me to her tree trimming party. Last letter I wrote was to Heather.
I can’t remember the last time I wrote a personal letter. However I do write personal notes every time I send out gifts for swaps and giveways. My most recent note was to a swap partner that lived in the Czek Republic.
P.S. I just love your art. It’s stunning. And I’d let you peak at my stash anytime.

The last letter I received was from my niece, Lynette from NB. Thanking me for the baby quilt I made for her new born daughter. My last letter probably was to her also with the quilt. Vera.
Oh my! I’m ashamed to say I can’t remember either to or from! Safe to say the last letters I’ve received would be Christmas letters from my sister and aunt — but those don’t truly count as they were mass mailings. Now that I think about it, my last correspondence, both ways would be with my daughter when she was living in Whitehorse.
The last person I sent a letter to was my daughter who left for college this fall. The last letter I received was a card from my dad.
Thanks for a fun giveaway and a chance to win!

To my grandmother who was recently placed in a nursing home against her will, due to health issues. She doesn’t have access to her computer, and she loves hearing from me about my girls, so I write her letters (and it’s refreshing). The cards are absolutely beautiful! Thank you!

First off, your artwork is amazing. If I won those cards I’d probably frame them and put them in my sewing room. My fabric stash is still relatively small compared to some people’s, but I really love every piece I have. Isn’t that always the way.
I actually have to echo what so many people have said- I don’t know if I can remember the last time I wrote a real letter, although I have written a serious amount of thank you notes in the past few years since we have two small children. The last letter I actually received was from the people we bought our house from. They left us a letter with small little details about the house they loved.
The last card I received was from a nice PR lady I am working with The last card I sent was not actually mailed… but I handed out cards last night at a GNO

I’m so IN. Who wouldn’t want to win their drawn stash in greeting cards! The most recent one I received was from Paula. Thanks for sharing Lysa. Love your drawings.

I wrote only one this year, to a friend of mine. And I received three handwritten cards, from friends. That’s nothing compared to 15 years ago.

WOW! Since everyone knows I live and breath fabric and quilting…they’d sure know the letter was from me if I didn’t sign it! Last letter I wrote..and literally sent it snail mail (USPS) was my 6 yo grand daughter. I don’t get to see much of her anymore and we had quite a history together. I was also writing to my 12 yo GD..but she has since moved in with me! But I have been trying to bring the past into their “all push button” lives..they just don’t know what they are missing by just texting or email..the thrill of opening that mail box and finding a letter to you and the special time to sit and read it….I remember the day so well, both in writing and receving (writting more than receiving) and I want htem to have that feeling and memory…and they do as they both say the LOVE my letters…I just haven’t been to sucessful in getting them to write back!!! Oh well! Back to quilting for them then! THanks!

I wrote last to a sweet Internet friend who had sent me some supplies from her local dollar store up in Canada. The last handwritten letter I received was probably from her with the supplies. I don’t get many Ietters, only bills. . .UGH!
